Hey, you?Yeah you. You want a chance to get a FREE PRINT of original artwork? How about a chance to win one of a kind embossed leather bracers? Then support the BLOGATHON campaign for the Lullis M. Ritter Animal Shelter (TriCounty Humane Society). I'm going to be doing this ALL DAY Saturday (24 hours straight through), and the more support we can get the better! We'd love it if you could stop in and support the no-kill Animal Shelter (and keeping me awake :P) by going and commenting, posting links and banners in your own journal/site, or donating.. whatever it takes. It doesn't matter what you do, but remember that even just $1 counts. Plus, every dollar we donate helps one more puppy or kitten with shots, food, adoption.. You may be thinking "What's in it for me? Why should I donate to this blogathon instead of sending my money to somewhere else?" If you need incentive other than to just be helping save abandoned, abused, and neglected animals you will definitely want to stay tuned to our blog! As in the previous years I will be offering incentives (other than the ones mentioned) to donate during the 24 hours. Not only will I be raising money for the shelter but for every $20 raised I will also be donating an hour of volunteer time to the shelter. I will be entertaining you with anecdotes about spotlight animals from the shelter, personal accounts, little known facts about pets, phone posts, photo posts, and requests from those who pledge, and offering prizes, as well as abasing myself for your pleasure (and donations ;). You can check out the specific details for it here (and subsequent posts that answer questions, like here), and you can get banners to post here if you're interested. Thanks guys. How can you resist the puppies and kitties?! | | Wednesday, June 15th, 2005 | 4:39 pm [chemical]

Blog-A-Thon
So, you guys, this is a friend of mine who has a cause that also matters to me, and he's wondering if he can do a blog-a-thon thing for them. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the reader base. I would be happy to do it myself along with him to raise the money, and hopefully we could recruit some other LJers in diabetes communities . . . but I would really hope that you guys could help with your reader base. Do you guys think he and I could pull this off to raise some money? http://www.livejournal.com/users/enotnert/17480.html Current Mood: hopeful | | Sunday, July 25th, 2004 | 8:24 am [artgrrlnet]

Kitties and Puppies and Bloggin, oh my!
8 hours left to go in Project Blog and I am still going strong. I thought I would go ahead and post in this community, because my entries on my site have lots of cute pictures of animals from the shelter here that I am raising money for that people might like to see. Some dogs and some cats...but ALL cute and needing homes and help. I even have a contest going for the duration of the blogging event. Come visit me at Cricket's Corner! http://cricketscorner.blogspot.comContest details here: http://beforeimgone.org/projectblog.htm Current Mood: hungry | 4:17 pm [briarwolf]

Hey folks. I'm one of those people doing Project-Blog. My thing to day is writing about a zillion fanfic drabbles. (At least, that's what it feels like already.) Mostly anime and manga fandoms thus far. If you're interested, stop by and take a peek. Every Silent ScreamThese drabbles do contain slashy elements. Oh, and I'm blogging for Human Rights Campaign. Hope everyone else doing Project-Blog today is having a good time! Time to get back to the grind. :D Current Mood: pleased | 11:32 am [artgrrlnet]

Blogging for Planned Parenthood.
Hi, everyone! This Saturday, I will be posting every thirty minutes on my website through Project Blog for Planned Parenthood. I participated in last year's Blogathon and I'm really looking forward to this one. For my theme, I'm gonna try and dish out eight different medium/large paintings of nude bodies (specifically, my boyfriend's and mine). I'm gonna be painting two at a time (one containing my body, one containing his), which is a challenge I've wanted to take on for some time. I think this would be a good time to tackle it as best as I can. There will also be random babbling throughout the posts. Good luck to anyone else participating! | | Friday, July 23rd, 2004 | 1:22 pm [museumfreak]

First-time Blogathonner (is that a word?)
I too am blogging this weekend through Project Blog for Human Rights Watch. So far all I have is one sponsor, but he's donating $25, which is (much) better than nothing. Don't have any overall plan for what I'll be posting, but if you pledge at least $5 I will let you pick anyone of my photographs and send you a print of it. Not much of an incentive, I know, but it's all I can offer. Good luck everyone. | 11:24 am [kimeepower]

Doing it again?
Well I participated in the blogathon last weekend, kinda. I started Friday night, as a few other friends did, but I didn't stay awake. So I figured I would rejoin it on the "official" start time of 9:00am EST. I did & lasted a very long time. Until I had nothing else to talk about & had gone completely mad. I didn't have any sponsors, so I didn't feel that obligated to keep the insanity going. I finally collapse after I did about 3/4ths of it. It was pretty neat experience. So why not do it again? Plus my friends hate me blogging anyways, why not piss them off some more :) So I am doing it again for Project Blog. My charity was RAINN, which is a great organization & you should donate to them. I don't have any sponsors again this time around, but I am still going to go for it. I'm going to *try* to do it again. If anyone wants to check out the insanity, my blog is http://kimee.blog-city.com The actual blogathon entries are located here http://kimee.blog-city.com/read/blogathon.htmSince I don't plan on getting any sponsors, maybe I could get some readers out of this. My blog is a very personal blog. I blog about everything. Things I think about, things I have to do, things that I have done, or things that just plain piss me off. Friends hate my blog, cause I blog too much & I am too personal, although no one is ever mentioned by name. Strangers love it, they are scared or upset along with me. It is a very VERY long roller coaster ride. Not that it is meant to be that at all. It just is. That is my life at this moment. So if you would like to sponsor me, I would love it! You can go here http://www.rainn.org/donate.html & I guess email me how much you donated so I can keep track & feel like I accomplished something. If not, then definately check out my blog. Thanx. | 10:02 am [deeevamp]

Blogtacular!
I am doing Project Blog this weekend--if anyone is still paying attention after the other Blogathon. ;)
I am blogging for The Global Fund for Women. All posts will appear in the_mere.
If you do not donate, you are not on the friend list for that
journal and you won't be able to read any posts.
I will be writing chapters of my Arthurian novel-in-progress, Under In the Mere.
The way this novel is structured makes it hard to post everything I
have completed already, so, in order for you to be able to read it in
its entirety (assuming I finish), beginning tonight I will be posting
finished chapters up to the point where I am beginning the Blogathon
chapters. I'll post the other finished ones after the event, and since they
come towards the end, anyway, you won't be missing anything.
I have so far raised, if I'm counting correctly, $384.25. My goal is
$500, and I will be accepting donations throughout the event and for a
little while afterwards, while I run the reward stories. Speaking of
rewards:
For a $40 donation, you can assign me a short story--any style, any
topic, any genre. Yes, even fan fiction. I'm a sucker for charity.
For $10 donations and up, swisscheesed will do a custom illustration for you...when she comes back.
I've decided to take a page from theferrett, as well. For a donation of
$25 or more, I'll write an analysis of you, or at least the you
presented in your livejournal. Pros, cons, the whole nine.
Since the $300 mark has been passed, I'll be posting the first portion
of The Daughters' Tales: The Book of the Sea, next week. Again, no
donation, no read. You must be on the friend list of the_mere to read any of this.
If we reach $500, as per shellefly's request, I will post six sections of my prose-poem, Z. This is a
scoop, as it'll be published this fall as part of my full-length poetry
collection. You can read it here first!
If you want to know more about any of these works-in-progress, check out my website fopr synopses.
Please, please post about this in your journals! Since
the other blogathon is over, I think very few people realize that
another one is going on this weekend. The thunder, she is a bit taken.
Get the word out, pimp till you can't pimp no more. It's good karma.
And tune in! A $1 donation will get you onto the filter--leave a
comment with your pledge and I will contact everyone after the event
with instructions on how to finalize the donation. Or go to Project Blog and sponsor me there. I promise to give good blog. Ask around, I rocked the cyber-socks last year.
Good luck to anyone else shooting for the moon this weekend!

Hey everyone, I'm participating in Project-Blog this Saturday. I'm blogging for the Children's Health Foundation here in London, Ontario. It's the fundraising part of the Children's Hospital of Southwestern Ontario, which my younger sister spent a lot of time at before dying from heart complications. So, I'm raising the money in her memory. This is the first time I've ever attempted a blogathon-esque event, so hopefully everything runs smoothly. I have no real theme unfortunately. Although the great majority of the posts will be creative writing of mine, some done on the spot, some from my old folders. As well I'll be doing various random postings, this that and the other. Well, if you want to randomly sponser someone, I wouldn't mind ;oP Do so through the Project-Blog website, just look for the name John Winter. Thank ya | | Tuesday, July 20th, 2004 | 2:39 pm [mortaine]

Project Blogging
Hi, everyone. I'm participating in Project Blog this Saturday. It's 24 hours of blogging, similar to Blogathon, except that Blogathon is on hiatus for 2004. The blog I'll be updating is mortaine_fit (because I don't want to kill all of my friends with Friends Page Spam. I'm blogging to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I'm also training for a marathon to help raise money for them, so the Project Blog event is one step in my fundraising efforts. Please do consider sponsoring me, either through Project Blog or through my Team in Training home page. Thanks! Cross-posted all over the place | 5:15 am [ravien]
